Swimming in the boundless ocean of compassion, enjoying the sweet ambrosia of love, Amma’s darling children become rejuvenated and empowered to be true activists of love in action. They march forward along with many others with a clear vision of their lives – believing in Karma Yoga and living up to it. Desirous of performing acts of charity and goodwill to serve the needy, students of our Amrita Vidyalayam were energized into action. From this emerged the “Amritam Club” at our school.
The Pidiyari/Oru Pidi Payar project was started at our school in June 2015. On all Thursdays, pulses are collected from each class. This is distributed to a few needy families selected by the school from a survey conducted by student volunteers. The love and gratitude in their eyes while receiving the packets of pulses will remain in our hearts forever.
