Bhajan Sandhya at Anappuzha Sreekurumba Bhagavathy Temple

On March 6, 2016, Sampujya Swami Purnamritananda Puri was welcomed ceremoniously to Anappuzha Sreekurumba Bhagavathy Temple, Kodungallur, for the official dedication of the newly constructed Mandapam to the deity. The auspicious event was blessed by Swamiji’s benevolent presence and his invaluable talk to the huge gathering that had assembled on the temple grounds.

Special occasions such as this become opportunities for the devoted students of our school bhajan group who holds “Bhajan Sandhyas” at various temples during festivals, enchanting crowds with their beautiful rendition of devotional songs. The troupe felt extremely happy to sit with Swamiji and sing Vedic mantras, bhajans and the Mahishasura Mardini Stotram for more than one hour. The bhajan session was led by Gopi Krishna, Amrita Varshini and Aparna. The young singers immersed themselves in the rhythm and magic of the music. It was beautiful to watch the students of Kindergarten through XII singing with closed eyes and folded palms. As it was a holiday, two of our former students, Vivek Baburaj and Sneha Ravikumar who are vocalists and have been specially blessed by Amma, also joined the bhajan performance.

The Kshetra Bharana Samithi honoured the performers with sweets and dakshina in the traditional way. On the whole, everyone including the temple committee members who had put in a lot of effort to organize the event felt that the day was priceless. Everyone present lined up patiently to receive Swamiji’s blessings and unniyappam as prasad.
