WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

The scriptures teach us to honour and worship the forces and elements that make up the universe. They tell us to love and protect all the beings of the world which would in turn reward us plentifully. In order to convey this message, we observed World Environment Day at our school by conducting an awareness session about the need and relevance of protecting and conserving Mother Nature. The programme was organized under the leadership of Class XII students.  The Chief Guest, Sri Thankaraj, Agricultural Officer of SN Puram Panchayat, delivered an inspiring speech to the gathering at a function which was presided over by our Principal Bri. Gurupriyamrita Chaitanya. Senior Teacher, Ms. Geetha V.G. was also present. Sri Thankaraj planted a neem sapling, and Head Girl, Amrita Anilkumar welcomed all while the guests were presented mementos.  Vivek N.J. presented a speech and School Captain Shibin M.S. read the oath of the day to all the students. The Sanskrit verses ‘Tharave Namosthu’ chanted by Students of class X B urged everyone to worship trees that give shade even to those who cut them down ruthlessly. Head Boy Akhil Pavithran expressed thanks to all. Various events such as quiz, exhibition, poster making, documentary presentation and film show, planting of saplings in the school compound, etc. were also held.

Students of class XII created a tree with biodegradable substances. The leaves swung well, bearing quotes on how to save Mother Earth.  The song of the day was played repeatedly to all the classes.  All the teachers wearing clothes in shades of green enriched the green feel of the Environment Day celebrations at our school.
