National Reading Day was celebrated on 19th June 2024. To develop a love for reading, various interesting activities will be conducted for a week. The Principal Swamini Gurupriyamrita Prana inaugurated the day. The activities were assigned for a week. On Reading Day, students of classes 3 to 5 enthusiastically participated in the reading activity and designed attractive front and back covers for their favourite books. Students of grades 6 to 8 delivered speeches in English, Malayalam, Sanskrit, and Hindi about reading. Various articles conveying the message of the day were displayed on the bulletin board and notice board. The students created a story map on their favourite book and interviewed their favourite character from the book they read. A book review of R.K. Narayan’s Swami and Friends reverberated through the FM radio. Various other programmes will be conducted during the following days of the week, such as the introduction of sacred puranic books, book review, one-act play, and former students will be donating books to the library. An e-book compiled by Indrajith of Grade 8 was very attractive. The wholehearted participation in all the activities boosted their academic performance as well.
