The Birth Anniversary of Sage Veda Vyasa is celebrated as Vyas Poornima or Gurupoornima by those who have offered their lives unto the lotus feet of the Guru. It is on this full moon day that disciples rededicate themselves to uplifting themselves and all of humanity. In remembrance of this, we celebrated Gurupoornima at our school on July 21, 2015. Br. Anaghamrita Chaitanya performed the “Guru Paduka pooja” and delivered a satsang to the children and parents who had gathered to take part in the celebration. After the paduka pooja, the students were guided in performing “Matrupooja”, worshipping their own mothers, the very first Guru in one’s life. As part of the celebration, each student brought offerings for the day, as it gave them the happiness of Giving and Sharing. All of us could feel the warmth that every Amrita student cherishes forever.
