Karkkidakam, the month of rituals, has begun! One of the significant traditions observed during this month is applying henna in the evening in the presence of the sacred Nilavilakku (lamp). This practice is believed to calm the mind, reduce mental anguish, and enhance the overall well-being and beauty of women.
On this auspicious first Friday of Karkkidakam (July 19, 2024), our Class VIII students at Amrita Vidyalayam Kodungallur are participating in this ritual by applying henna on their hands and feet. We encourage our students to embrace this tradition and reap its benefits.
