Karkkidaka Food Fest 2024

The Karkkidakam food festival in Kerala is a traditional event observed during the Malayalam month of Karkidakam (July-August). Rooted in Ayurvedic traditions, it focuses on health and wellness by emphasizing nutritious foods to boost immunity and restore health.

During this period, special dishes and meals are prepared, including Karkidaka Kanji (a medicinal porridge), various types of gruel, and herbal balls, all believed to cleanse the body and improve digestion. The festival is a cultural practice that promotes well-being through food, aligning with Kerala’s rich Ayurvedic heritage.

Students from classes I to VIII actively participated by bringing various delicious items, contributing to the celebration and sharing the joy of this health-focused tradition.
