On August 6th, our school observed Hiroshima Day, commemorating the 1945 atomic bombing of Hiroshima. This poignant occasion serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of nuclear warfare and the unwavering pursuit of peace.
Student Participation
The event featured a powerful speech by Sivaganga P.S. from Class VII, who delivered a thought-provoking address. Additionally, students from classes 6 to 8 engaged in a poster-making activity, creatively expressing their understanding of the day’s significance through art. This exercise encouraged them to explore themes of peace, resilience, and the historical importance of Hiroshima Day.
Reflection and Remembrance
Hiroshima Day is not only a day of remembrance but also a time for reflection on the lessons learned from history. It underscores the need for continued dialogue and collective efforts to ensure that nuclear weapons are never used again. Our school’s observance of this significant day serves as a testament to our commitment to promoting peace and nuclear disarmament.
