The Swachhata Hi Seva movement was wholeheartedly embraced by the school as we feel proud that Amrita Vidyalayams have been among the forerunners of the cleanliness drive known as Amala Bharatham Campaign since 2010.
In order to mark our reverence to the Father of the Nation, the staff and students pledged to be successors of the Mahatma in his words and deeds especially in health and hygiene. It is our dream to make India a gloriously green and beautiful land. Inspired by the movement, we planned and implemented certain activities to clean up the environment. Awareness classes were given to students making them conscious about their personal hygiene and the health of society.
The programme started with great enthusiasm by picking up litter from the classrooms and the school courtyard. Our teachers were also involved in this clean up drive. Our senior students came out in action and tidied up the playground that was damaged by the recent floods. They were also happy to help with the roadside cleaning near the school. The programme energized the students, giving them the wonderful opportunity to do something for society.
